Whether you enjoy walking your dog around the neighborhood, taking long hikes in the mountains,  playing a vigorous game of fetch or tug, or training to compete in dog sports, such as rally-o or agility, the main reason we share our lives with dogs is that we enjoy their company.  They are our companions.

The relationship we share with these wonderful canines is important to us, and at Dog Logic U, we want to help you reach your goals through the use of force free training.

What we offer

At our training center in Prunedale, California, we offer private lessons, as well as classes in: dog agility, rally obedience, juvenile and adult basic manners, trick training, and Canine Good Citizen.

In addition, we have a board and train program for those that are interested in having us train your dog for you.

What is aversive free training

Aversive free training is just as it sounds.  The dogs work for us because they choose to. Not because we are forcing them to. Not because they are afraid of being punished.

How is this accomplished?  Well, we are the ticket to what they want.  Maybe that is food.  Maybe that is their favorite toy. Maybe a game of fetch or tug.  Whatever motivates that dog on that particular day.  Dogs learn very quickly that if they do what we want, they get paid.  Aversive free training uses positive reinforcement to let the dog know, “Job well done!” and either time-outs or a no reward marker word to let them know, “Oops, wrong choice. You have lost the opportunity for a reward.  Try again!”

At Dog Logic University, we understand that most of us want a well behaved dog, and we are here to help you get just that! We also believe that training your dog should be a fun and rewarding experience for you and your dog.  It is about building a relationship based on trust that both dog and owner can enjoy.
